Bitterness Most Bizarre Aspect of Dems' Fla / Mich Mess

While it certainly confirms our long-run thesis that the biggest problem in the US in the insanely low level of public discourse,

it's nevertheless shocking and disturbing to see the level of bitterness and anger that the Obama and -- it does seem to me, even more -- Clinton camps were quoted as hurling [ and I mean that in ALL senses of the world ;-) ]

at each other during the Democratic Party meetings to figure out how to handle the mess they all created for themselves in Florida and Michigan ...

Maybe it's just the heat of the moment, and it will all be forgotten when they all confront the very real possibility of W Lite in McCain,

but even then, do these people REALLY believe that their candidate is so much better -- and the other one so much worse -- that they -- party activists, after all -- would threaten to vote for McCain in the fall ???

My fear is that, indeed, they DO believe that ... and insofar as that is true, it really IS yet another sad indication of the depths to which American public discourse has sunk ...

Sad ... pathetic ... and potentially dangerous as it could lead to a McCain Presidency ...

Not that an Obama, and especially Round 3 of the Billary Show, Presidency would be all that much better ...

But that these people would get so worked up over so little -- with such potentially bad results, even from THEIR point of view --

well ... it just boggles the mind how incredibly ridiculous American political discourse has become ...
