Ray Allen Has GOT To Sit For Celts To Win

It's certainly not COMPLETELY his fault that the Celtics lost Game 4, which, despite trailing the whole time, they SHOULD have won ...

Once again, they really lost their concentration in the 4th quarter, somewhat defensively but very definitely on offense ...

But, at the crucial point in the game, down by 7 with about three minutes left, Allen had a clear path to the hoop, with Garnett right there for the follow-up rebound, if necessary,

but he's so badly lost his nerve that he passed off to an understandably unsuspecting KG, who couldn't handle it, and lost it out of bounds for the Celts' FIRST turn-over of the 4th quarter ...

Pistons then came down, and Billups -- I think ;-) -- hit the Pistons FIRST three OF THE GAME, and the margin -- which could have been five -- went back to 10, and that, basically, was the game ...

Of course, it didn't help that Ray THEN missed two foul shots, which would have helped keep it a little closer ...

But the crucial mistake was his failure of nerve when he was at the hoop ...

So Doc Rivers has got to step up and make the "hard" -- but actually, from a performance point of view, easy -- decision and radically minimize Allen's minutes ...

He should still start, just to see if he CAN get untracked ... but if he can't fairly quickly, then it's time to bring back Eddie House, and HOPE that his pretty much total absence so far vs. the Pistons won't make him too rusty ...

Again, it's not TOTALLY Allen's fault that the Celts lost a game they SHOULD have won ... but he is just not producing, and there's no more time to waste ...

Also Allen's defense is (by far) the weakest link in the Celtics D.
Richard Hamilton is just running him ragged and abusing him to no end.
Hamilton is non-stop motion without the ball on offense (very unusual
in the NBA of today), and Allen just cannot keep up. And it also seems
to affect Ray's offense. That was what really struck me about the 4th
quarter.

Not sure there is a good alternative, however, there.

Pistons have really been an elite team for 5 years now and do not get
the respect they deserve. So many tools --Rasheed, Hamilton,
Tayshaun Price, Chauncey Billups...and McDyess, Maxiell and Stuckey
are all solid. A great foul shotting team too and composed under
pressure.

This is a real tough series...it aint no Hawks, Cavs or Mudd Cub
or CBGBS. I think the Pitons will beat the Celtics.
Garnett is playing well but the rest of the team has been shaky.
They will need Pierce to play much better than he did last night.
Celtics second line players actually have been OK so far
(they are certainly playing hard).
It is the not-so big three who have been less than spectacular.
